Brie en Croute

Brie En Croute Tall Blonde Cookbook Recipe

A little frozen puff pastry, a little sweet, a little imagination helped to make my NYE appetizer table very tasty.  Many recipes make one large wheel for parties to share with all your guests.  Mine are individual servings and you don't have a messy unappetizing platter on your party table that looks like zoo animals trampled through it. These cheesy puffs are crispy, creamy and sweet. Serves 12.

17 oz. frozen Pepperidge Farm puff pastry
8 oz. brie cheese
4 tea. dark brown sugar
1 oz. assorted dried fruit (wild blueberries, dark cherries used here)
egg wash

The night before remove the frozen puff pastry and place in refrigerator to defrost   s l o w l y.
At the same time cut brie cheese into 12 pieces and freeze. Cut off hard rind.
When you are ready to assemble unfold the two sheets of puff pastry and cut each sheet into 6 squares.

Place one cube of brie at one end of each square, sprinkle with brown sugar and dried fruit.
Egg wash the edges, fold over and seal pressing down with the tines of a fork.
Egg wash the top of each cheese package.

Bake for 12-15 minutes at 350-degrees. TALLBlonde like these for breakfast too. YUM!
